Credit where credit is due.
Sara Lipka wrote this week in the Chronicle of Higher Ed about the lack of consistency among institutions regarding what a credit actually means. You cannot swing a cat on a college campus (note to readers: I am not encouraging the swinging of cats) without hitting someone who had trouble transferring credits. For many students this winds up being a real roadblock to graduating in the traditional number of years—or at all. I encourage all you higher ed writers to take on the subject with some compelling local examples.
